A Beautiful Affirmation To Love and Live By

Did you realise that beautiful affirmations and beautiful quotes can build up a woman's confidence and the way she feels about herself?

According to the Cosmetic, Toiletry & Perfumery Association (CTPA), feeling confident about one's appearance rates as the most important factor for building self esteem? This is backed by several years of research the organisation has conducted  and comes above having a large group of friends, being financially successful and even having a supportive family.

This is why I love the beauty industry; an industry that understands the issue of self-esteem, beauty and its relationship to how people see themselves. I have found that beautiful affirmations and beautiful quotes in general, have an igniting force, an inspiring energy that move and compel people to great awesomeness.

As such, I am sharing with you a beautiful affirmation I wrote myself. These are words that will make you think, but more importantly an affirmation and a beautiful quote that will make you understand what being beautiful is all about.

A Beauty Trend To Love And (Also) To Hate

How can you love and hate something at the same time?

When looking through Youtube for some beauty tips to help with both my personal and business life, I have noticed a beauty trend that has been going for a while now. One which I really like but also, completely dislike - Celebrity look alike tutorials.

Here are just some of the few, I have come across in my search for personal beauty care and current beauty trends.
  • Makeup look like Taylor Swift
  • Makeup look like Selena Gomez
  • Makeup look like Beyonce
  • Makeup look like Rihanna
  • Makeup look like Angelina Jolie

The Love
It's great to get inspiration from celebrities and see what a transformation makeup fused with beauty or style can bring. After all, who does not want to look like the gorgeous Beyonce, the glamorous Rihanna or the trendy Selena Gomez!

The Hate
This beauty trend seems to have become so obsessive and I'm wondering when is it going to gradually end! I'm all for beauty and I'm a trained professional. That said, I'm an advocate of personal brilliance and personal style. I believe that beauty is unique and should come from a place of authenticity. Most importantly, young girls and young women are being encouraged to think that they are not cool enough, gorgeous enough or simply beautiful enough until they've made their makeup look like that of a celebrity or somebody else.

Finding The Balance
There is nothing wrong in following a beauty trend or being inspired by other people's looks: what they wear, their makeup, lifestyle or indeed their beauty. All I am saying is that while doing that, do let your own beauty shine through tooBeauty is unique and personal. It is great to love and embrace another person's make-up and style, but in the process, do not lose your own beauty power.

So I'm hoping that you'll rock your own personal beauty with authenticity to let yourself shine, even with an inspired look from a celebrity model or celebrity icon.

Woman! You are beautiful in your own way. Please, remember that.

Radiance and Love,

Wumi xoxo

The Beauty of Being Recognised at The Wise Women Awards

There is no doubt that the Wise Women Awards celebration this year at The Tower Grange Hotel in London was an ecletic mix of inspiration, fun, enjoyment, celebration and recognition. With over 300 people in attendance, the awards ceremony captured the wonderful essence of being recognised as a Christian woman in business, ministry, music, missions, leadership, serving the community, and being an exceptional young christian woman.
Founded 13 years ago by Reverend Marjorie Esomowei of Wisdom for Women International, an ordained minister and natural leader with large heart to serve humanity,  the Wise Women Awards celebrates Christian Women who are doing exceptional things within their churches or the wider community. In 2004, she noticed that there were no awards on the scene recognising Christian women for their achievements across the broad spectrum of the Christian community. As such, in 2005 she began the Wise Women Awards in the United Kingdom which also now encompasses Europe.
I was graced with the honour of being recognised for running a business that positively impacts the community. It certainly feels good to be celebrated.

A massive shout out to the Wise Women Awards team for putting on a show stopping event. Thank you Pastor Marjorie for honouring Christian Women. The Wise Women Awards will be back next year, so if you know a deserving Christian Woman, be on the look out for when the nominations open up later on in the year at www.wisewomenawards.org.
